Projected Sales of OnePlus on JD Jumps Greatly
by Rachel Liu
JD and OnePlus announced a goal to achieve over 300% YOY growth in sales of mobile phones and IoT products on JD in 2021. The target compound growth rate for sales over the next three years is 100%.
The announcement was made in Shenzhen on Apr. 21. The two companies will further cooperate on promotion of high-end mobile phones, omni-channel development, IoT products, C2M, after-sales service and more. OnePlus will support JD on supply chain and the omni-channel development of mobile phone and other electronics products. JD will also provide OnePlus marketing resources and sales channels to help the brand grow faster.
“JD has developed industry-leading abilities in electronics and home appliances. This is exactly what OnePlus needs,” said Daniel Tan, president of JD Mobile Devices. “JD and OnePlus will provide a premium experience to customers and create more opportunities in the industry.”
“Through working with JD, we are able to more efficiently deliver our high-quality products to customers’ hands,” said Zuohu Liu, CEO and founder of OnePlus. “We will continue to create more value for our customers by combining our advantages and optimizing our resources.”
Under this partnership, OnePlus will launch its products at JD Home, JD’s offline electronics experience store chain. JD will provide “one-hour delivery” service to more OnePlus customers. JD and OnePlus will also jointly develop a comprehensive service system covering pre-sales to after-sales. OnePlus will also launch a store on JD’s business procurement platform, JD Business, to provide more professional solutions for group and enterprise clients.
JD’s partnership with OnePlus dates back to 2014, when the e-commerce leader became a sales channel for OnePlus products. In 2019, OnePlus joined the 5G Ecosystem Alliance formed by JD and industry partners. During the past Singles Day Shopping Festival (Nov. 1-11), JD sold over 10,000 OnePlus 8T phone in one minute.
