Well-known Chinese Diabetes Expert Joins JD Health
by Martin Li
Former vice chairman of the Chinese Medical Association’s diabetes branch Zou Dajin, joined JD Health as academic leader of its diabetes rehabilitation center on Mar. 25.
Zou, who is a well-known endocrinology expert in China, started making use of big data and AI to help with recovery of diabetics after joining the chronic disease management company Hill United Health. Zou will continue to work with Hill United Health, with which JD Health has also inked agreement of cooperation.
Signing ceremony on Mar.25.
Zou and his team will take advantage of JD’s supply chain and Internet health care capabilities to provide patients with health management solutions covering medical treatment, nutrition and exercises.
“The efficiency of treating diabetes by drugs is only around 30 percent,” Zou said. “It is hardly achievable by hospitals alone to raise the efficiency, which speaks well to the necessity of health management outside hospitals.”
JD Health opened its diabetes center in 2020, with a view to partner with medical institutes and pharmaceutical companies to develop a health management service system integrating online and offline, and covering online consultation, drug supply chain and regular health management.
