JD Health Introduces Groundbreaking LLM-Powered Suite for Comprehensive Online and In-Hospital Healthcare Scenarios

At the forefront of digital health innovation, JD Health unveiled two groundbreaking AI systems on January 12 at its 2025 Annual Doctor Gala and Digitally Intelligent Health Conference in Beijing. The “AI Jingyi” (AI京医) suite is designed for online healthcare scenarios, while “JOY DOC” (京东卓医) represents the industry’s first AI solution for full-spectrum hospital use cases.

These innovations are part of JD Health’s smart healthcare applications, built on its medically specialized Large Language Model (LLM), “Jingyi Qianxun” (京医千询). They aim to enhance patient comfort, boost clinical research efficiency for doctors, and optimize hospital operations, while continuing to prioritize the security of patient health records and safeguarding their privacy.

AI Jingyi: Boosting Clinical Efficiency

The “AI Jingyi” suite includes several products, such as the AI Diagnosis Assistant 2.0, AI Research Assistant, and AI Doctor Digital Twin. Since its debut in early 2024, the initial version of the AI Diagnosis Assistant quickly became one of the most popular diagnostic support platforms among doctors in China. The upgraded 2.0 version now incorporates cutting-edge AI and big data analytics to provide doctors with more precise and comprehensive diagnostic support. It has achieved a triage accuracy rate of 99.5%, improved electronic medical record writing efficiency by 120%, and resolved over 90% of issues on the first attempt.

The AI Research Assistant supports doctors in collecting, analyzing, and processing research data, facilitating the production of medical papers and providing experimental guidance.

Meanwhile, the AI Doctor Digital Twin, currently in beta testing, offers a personalized “digital human” to relieve doctors of routine tasks, allowing them to focus on complex and nuanced aspects of patient care. This digital twin learns from a doctor’s professional knowledge, thought processes, and communication habits, providing 24/7 patient support, disease education, treatment management, medication reminders, and other post-care services.

JOY DOC: Enhancing Hospital Experience

Continuing its commitment to providing open, validated technology and products to a broader user, JD Health introduced “JDY Doc,” the first AI system for comprehensive hospital applications. This includes the “Personal Medical Butler” for patients, “Doctor Digital Twin” for physicians, and “Future Digital Hospital” for hospital management.

The AI Personal Medical Butler assists patients with intelligent triage and companion-like service. It pre-assesses patient conditions, helps choose between online and offline consultations, and matches them with appropriate departments and doctors. Throughout the healthcare journey, the Butler uses extensive data to optimize queuing, billing, testing, and medication processes, reducing patient hassles and enhancing their hospital visits.

For doctors, the Doctor Digital Twin collects patient history in advance, offers personalized diagnostic plans, differential diagnosis suggestions, and high-risk disease alerts. Its semi-autonomous communication function can address patient queries 24/7, making doctors’ clinical expertise available on demand.

The Future Digital Hospital acts as a “super brain” for hospital management, integrating AI solutions to facilitate patient flow between online and offline channels, boosting resource efficiency. It also connects seamlessly with JD Health’s full-spectrum internet medical services, enhancing hospitals’ ability to deliver comprehensive care both inside and outside the hospital.

In 2024, JD Health’s Internet Hospital facilitated over 180 million online medical consultations, achieving a patient satisfaction rate of 98.4%. JD Health’s services now include online consultations, home testing, doctor diagnoses, and medicine home delivery. The company continues to enhance its offerings with medical expert services, video consultations, and more, striving to provide convenient and reliable services to its users while offering healthcare professionals enhanced tools for practice.

JD Logistics Launches Shenzhen-Bangkok Flight Through JD Airlines

JD Logistics, also known as JINGDONG Logistics, has officially launched a new international air cargo route connecting Shenzhen, China, with Bangkok, Thailand. Operated by JD Airlines, the maiden flight departed Shenzhen at 10 AM on January 3, 2025, carrying a full load of cross-border e-commerce goods to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok.

The route will be operated three times per week, catering to cross-border transportation needs. It primarily facilitates the shipment of Chinese products such as electronics, apparel, small appliances, and industrial manufacturing items, to Thailand, while enabling the export of Thai seafood and fruits to China.

With the launch of the new route, JD Logistics leverages its extensive overseas transportation and delivery resources to ensure efficient distribution in Thailand. The route will also be positioned as a key transit hub for onward shipments to Europe and North America.

In October last year, JD Airlines launched a cargo route between Shenzhen, China, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, operating two to five flights on the route per week. This route not only facilitates the transport of e-commerce goods but also supports the shipment of fresh products from Malaysia to China. Notably, cold chain solutions are employed for durian transportation. Flights transporting durians depart Malaysia in the evening and arrive in Shenzhen at night, where the durians are promptly cleared through customs. By the following morning, fresh Malaysian durians are delivered to supermarkets and fresh produce markets across South China, completing the journey in as little as 24 hours.

JD Logistics also operates multiple self-operated overseas warehouses, collaborative warehouses, and robust transportation and distribution networks in Southeast Asia, offering 24-hour fulfillment benefiting from enhanced supply chain efficiency for brands and merchants.

Earlier in December, JD Logistics unveiled its international expansion roadmap, in which the company will accelerate the growth of its “three networks”: the global warehouse network, express delivery network, and the air freight network, with the goal of establishing a “2-3 Day Delivery Circle” in dozens of overseas markets.

JD.com Enhances Consumer Access to Authentic Chagan Lake Fish

The annual winter fishing festival at Chagan Lake has begun on December 28 in Jilin, China, and JD Super, the supermarket division of JD.com, is transforming consumer access to fish from this esteemed location by offering direct, high-quality catches straight from the lake.

Direct Sales from the Lake

Chagan Lake, one of China’s top ten freshwater lakes and the largest inland lake in Jilin Province, is famous for its crystal-clear waters and rich fish resources, hosting over 60 species, including carp, grass carp, and crucian carp. Known for its unique flavor and exceptional quality, Chagan Lake fish has become a prized local specialty, attracting culinary enthusiasts from across the country. However, its increasing popularity has also led to issues with counterfeit products.

In an innovative exclusive sales partnership with the local fishing industry, JD Super has established a customized procurement model to deliver premium Chagan Lake fish directly to consumers. By creating a direct supply chain with the fishing grounds, JD Super ensures the freshness and quality of the fish, selecting only those caught on the same or the previous day. Consumers also enjoy added value, with orders such as a 5-kilogram purchase averaging a weight of 5.4 kilograms.

On the opening day of the winter fishing season, industry experts reported stable production, with an estimated catch of around 1.5 million kilograms. Despite a slight increase in the ex-factory price of Chagan Lake fish this year, JD Super has introduced substantial agricultural product discounts for specific types of Chagan Lake fish to improve affordability and support the branding and recognition of this local delicacy.

Accelerated Nationwide Cold-Chain Delivery

JD Logistics, the logistics arm of JD.com, plays a vital role in this initiative. Traditionally, Chagan Lake fish were transported through multiple intermediaries, which increased costs and delivery times. This year, JD Logistics has streamlined the process by establishing a transit hub in Changchun, the capital of Jilin Province. By leveraging extensive air resources, they have launched nearly 20 air routes from major nearby cities such as Changchun, Harbin, and Shenyang, significantly reducing shipping times. JD Logistics continues to optimize transportation routes and enhance its delivery network, achieving an average delivery time reduction of 3 hours for fish orders, ensuring that consumers nationwide receive first-rate fish quickly and in peak condition.

This strategic collaboration between JD.com’s retail and logistics services and the Chagan Lake fishing industry not only delivers authentic, high-quality fish to consumers but also strengthens the local economy and promotes sustainable fishing practices. By supporting the branding of Chagan Lake fish, JD is helping to elevate the profile of this local specialty, ensuring its reputation continues to grow both nationally and internationally.

JD Health’s Internet Hospital Introduces Video Consultation Service

On December 25, JD Health’s Internet Hospital launched a new video consultation service, allowing patients to have virtual “face-to-face” consultations with top medical experts. This service is complemented by the 24/7 availability of full-time general practitioners. These rapid video consultations with general practitioners are available with a single click and response times as fast as nine seconds, providing a significant enhancement in the efficiency and experience of JD Health’s telemedicine services.

The video consultation service provides two options: Expert Video Consultation and Rapid Video Consultation. The Expert Video Consultation option connects patients with doctors from China’s top AAA hospitals in major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. These specialists, who are experts in fields such as psychiatry, traditional Chinese medicine, and dermatology, offer scheduled time slots on JD Health, allowing patients to book video sessions more easily and at a lower cost from the comfort of their homes.

The Rapid Video Consultation service is staffed by JD Internet Hospital’s general practitioners, who are available around the clock. This service offers instant call options, with consultations starting in as little as nine seconds and lasting up to 15 minutes. It is ideal for addressing common health issues such as colds, fevers, diarrhea, vomiting, dizziness, headaches, and allergic reactions, providing patients with professional advice and treatment recommendations. For patients with chronic conditions, the service also facilitates convenient disease management, medication adjustments, and treatment plan modifications.

Additionally, the Rapid Video Consultation service supports multi-party calls, allowing users to share the video link via WeChat so others can join the consultation. This feature is particularly beneficial for adult children who want to arrange remote medical assistance for their elderly parents who live in different locations. It reduces barriers for seniors and enhances communication between doctors, patients, and family members.

Moreover, if additional tests or examinations are needed during a rapid video consultation, doctors can directly order tests online, creating a seamless “consult online, test at home, and receive medication at your doorstep” healthcare experience.

Online health consultations have become increasingly popular due to their convenience, efficiency, and ability to overcome geographical barriers. The launch of JD Health’s Internet Hospital video consultation service marks a significant upgrade from previous text and voice call consultations. It enables patients to describe their symptoms more thoroughly and accurately and allows doctors to observe symptoms more directly, thereby strengthening communication and trust between doctors and patients.
