JD.com Unveils Exciting Gift-Giving Feature in Latest App Update
As the Chinese New Year draws near, JD.com has introduced a delightful new gift-giving feature in its latest app update, announced on January 17. Seamlessly integrated with the popular social media platform WeChat, this feature harnesses JD.com’s supply chain strength to give consumers a fresh and engaging way to celebrate the festive season.
To use this feature, users simply search for “JD Gift” on the JD app homepage. After selecting a gift, they can click the send button on the product details page, personalize a gift card with a heartfelt message, and share it directly with a friend on WeChat. The recipient only needs to enter their delivery address—no extra steps required—and can track the delivery progress of their gift in real time.
One of the standout features is the innovative “Group Gift” option. This option allows users to purchase multiple gifts at once, bundle them into a single card, and send the card to a WeChat group. Group members can then participate in a lucky draw to randomly claim different gifts, adding an extra layer of fun and excitement to holiday interactions.
The gifts available through this feature are sourced from JD’s self-operated product range, ensuring quality and peace of mind for both givers and receivers.
In addition, JD Logistics will continue its tradition of delivering during the Spring Festival for the 13th year in a row, guaranteeing that gifts will arrive on time, even on Chinese New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Since December 24, 2024, during JD’s Chinese New Year Grand Promotions, users can enjoy special discounts, including a daily 60 RMB subsidy and interest-free installment plans, making the gift-giving experience both economical and rewarding.
This feature is part of JD’s recently revamped app, which is designed with a focus on enhanced user experience. The update includes a more intuitive homepage, a personalized message center, optimized product detail pages, smarter search recommendations, and advanced artificial intelligence technology, all tailored to meet the diverse needs of users more effectively.
At this year’s grand promotion, JD.com is spearheading China’s largest “Send New Year’s Gifts to Your Hometown” campaign. This initiative encourages people across the country to send thoughtful gifts to their hometowns and loved ones. Leading by example, JD.com’s founder and chairman, Richard Liu, has already sent over 50,000 gifts to his hometown of Guangming Village in Suqian, Jiangsu Province, capturing widespread attention and inspiring enthusiastic participation from users nationwide.

JD Health Introduces Groundbreaking LLM-Powered Suite for Comprehensive Online and In-Hospital Healthcare Scenarios
At the forefront of digital health innovation, JD Health unveiled two groundbreaking AI systems on January 12 at its 2025 Annual Doctor Gala and Digitally Intelligent Health Conference in Beijing. The “AI Jingyi” (AI京医) suite is designed for online healthcare scenarios, while “JOY DOC” (京东卓医) represents the industry’s first AI solution for full-spectrum hospital use cases.
These innovations are part of JD Health’s smart healthcare applications, built on its medically specialized Large Language Model (LLM), “Jingyi Qianxun” (京医千询). They aim to enhance patient comfort, boost clinical research efficiency for doctors, and optimize hospital operations, while continuing to prioritize the security of patient health records and safeguarding their privacy.
AI Jingyi: Boosting Clinical Efficiency
The “AI Jingyi” suite includes several products, such as the AI Diagnosis Assistant 2.0, AI Research Assistant, and AI Doctor Digital Twin. Since its debut in early 2024, the initial version of the AI Diagnosis Assistant quickly became one of the most popular diagnostic support platforms among doctors in China. The upgraded 2.0 version now incorporates cutting-edge AI and big data analytics to provide doctors with more precise and comprehensive diagnostic support. It has achieved a triage accuracy rate of 99.5%, improved electronic medical record writing efficiency by 120%, and resolved over 90% of issues on the first attempt.
The AI Research Assistant supports doctors in collecting, analyzing, and processing research data, facilitating the production of medical papers and providing experimental guidance.
Meanwhile, the AI Doctor Digital Twin, currently in beta testing, offers a personalized “digital human” to relieve doctors of routine tasks, allowing them to focus on complex and nuanced aspects of patient care. This digital twin learns from a doctor’s professional knowledge, thought processes, and communication habits, providing 24/7 patient support, disease education, treatment management, medication reminders, and other post-care services.
JOY DOC: Enhancing Hospital Experience
Continuing its commitment to providing open, validated technology and products to a broader user, JD Health introduced “JDY Doc,” the first AI system for comprehensive hospital applications. This includes the “Personal Medical Butler” for patients, “Doctor Digital Twin” for physicians, and “Future Digital Hospital” for hospital management.
The AI Personal Medical Butler assists patients with intelligent triage and companion-like service. It pre-assesses patient conditions, helps choose between online and offline consultations, and matches them with appropriate departments and doctors. Throughout the healthcare journey, the Butler uses extensive data to optimize queuing, billing, testing, and medication processes, reducing patient hassles and enhancing their hospital visits.
For doctors, the Doctor Digital Twin collects patient history in advance, offers personalized diagnostic plans, differential diagnosis suggestions, and high-risk disease alerts. Its semi-autonomous communication function can address patient queries 24/7, making doctors’ clinical expertise available on demand.
The Future Digital Hospital acts as a “super brain” for hospital management, integrating AI solutions to facilitate patient flow between online and offline channels, boosting resource efficiency. It also connects seamlessly with JD Health’s full-spectrum internet medical services, enhancing hospitals’ ability to deliver comprehensive care both inside and outside the hospital.
In 2024, JD Health’s Internet Hospital facilitated over 180 million online medical consultations, achieving a patient satisfaction rate of 98.4%. JD Health’s services now include online consultations, home testing, doctor diagnoses, and medicine home delivery. The company continues to enhance its offerings with medical expert services, video consultations, and more, striving to provide convenient and reliable services to its users while offering healthcare professionals enhanced tools for practice.
