On February 21, JD.com launched an initiative to allocate nearly RMB 500 million supportive subsidies and resources for small-and-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The company will integrate its e-commerce, logistics, financial, cloud and AI resources to help SMEs get through the coronavirus period.

Under the initiative, JD will provide SMEs in procurement and logistics subsidies to effectively lower operation costs while ensuring supply and price stability. At the same time, JD will provide subsidy and technology support for high density enterprise parks procuring protective materials, giving employees returning to work peace of mind.

JD is also launching an expedited channel for SME merchants to open stores on JD, enabling enrollment in as fast as six hours. JD will also provide online operations and supply chain services such as discounts for warehousing and live streaming. SMEs will also have the opportunity to become suppliers of JD Business, JD’s procurement channel for enterprises. Financial services such as low interest or interest-free loans are also available.

With the help of JD.com, Guanghan poultry trading market has successfully launched a trading information system to match supply and demand. In addition, 30 million roses from Yunnan province were sold across China through JD’s platform, and TIEM gaming products company received rapid financing service and is expanding its sales on JD.

“Ensuring the resumption of work and production is only the first step of the initiative for small-and medium-sized enterprises. We will further help them with the digital transformation of manufacturing and operations so that they can develop their own protective measures against the epidemic,” said Xiaohua Luo, Head of Enterprise Platform, JD Business.
