JD Logistics Unveils International Business Development Roadmap to Enable 2-3 Day Delivery in Dozens of Overseas Markets in 2025

December 18, 2024, Shenzhen — JD Logistics (also known as JINGDONG Logistics), the logistics arm of JD.com, today unveiled its overseas business development roadmap at JINGDONG Logistics 2025 International Integrated Supply Chain Strategic Launch Event in Shenzhen. As part of the roadmap, the company will accelerate the growth of its “three networks”, the global warehouse network, express delivery network, and the air freight network.

The new initiative aims to scale the company’s global e-commerce omni-channel fulfillment services, build a “2-3 Day Delivery Circle”, expand express delivery service regions, and establish an international aerial network. These will enable highly-efficient global supply chain and logistics services for overseas clients, Chinese brands and cross-border merchants. At the event, JD Logistics also announced the launch of “Simplified Reverse Returns Service” and “Overseas Warehouse Bulky Item Delivery and Installation Service”.

JD Logistics plans to expand and open additional overseas warehouses in the next 12 months, increasing the total floor area by 100%. This will allow the company to continue to build on its reputation as a trusted supply chain infrastructure service provider with overseas warehouse business at the core of international expansion.

2-3 Day Delivery Circle Enabled by Overseas Warehousing and Delivery

Over the years, JD Logistics has implemented the philosophy of “placing goods as close to consumers as possible” through building a supply chain logistics network that helps clients and merchants achieve local stocking.

In 2025, JD Logistics will complete a “2-3 Day Delivery” service circle. This will enable clients and consumers in 19 countries to enjoy fast logistics service through JD Logistics’ more than 50 self-operated overseas warehouses. By that time, the total overseas warehouse floor area will achieve a 100% increase.

Currently, JD Logistics’ 2-3 Day Delivery is already offered in multiple countries including the U.S., the UK, France, Germany, Poland, the UAE, Japan, South Korea and Australia. In fact, some regions can now take advantage of one-day delivery services.

In 2025, JD Logistics will also accelerate the launch of new warehouses in Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, Middle East, Europe and Americas. With a highly efficient and collaborated supply chain, the “2-3 Day Delivery” service range will be further expanded in these regions.

 

Efficient Omni-channel Fulfillment Service for Global E-commerce

Leveraging extensive global logistics infrastructure and service network, JD Logistics provides clients with “Global E-commerce Omni-channel Fulfillment Service” that enables seamless multi-channel fulfillment with unified inventory.

JD Logistics also provides a full range of transportation services including sea freight, air freight, truck dispatch, and trailer services, and value-added services such as B2B/B2C shared warehousing, integrated forward and reverse logistics, bulky-item delivery and installation, and more.

 

Simplified Reverse Returns Service

Building the Global Supply Chain’s “Aerial Artery”

To date, JD Logistics’ international express delivery service has been extended to nearly 80 countries and regions, with the fastest delivery from China to European and North American countries being within only three days.

JINGDONG Industrials Hosts Partner Conference in Indonesia, Expands Local Supply Chain Integration

JD.com Targets 5 Billion RMB with Chilean Product Partnership as 2024/25 Season Cherry Sales Launch

On December 12, JD Super, the supermarket division of JD.com (also known as JINGDONG), launched the Chilean Specialties Festival and kicked off 2024/25 Chilean cherry sales with the recent arrival of the first “Cherry Express” ship in China. In a ceremony attended by the Chilean Ambassador to China, H.E. Mr. Mauricio Hurtado, JD Super signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chilean brands, aiming to achieve 5 billion RMB in sales of Chilean products, including cherries, wine, and salmon, over the next three years.

The sea-freight Chilean cherry sales launch event was officiated by Ambassador Hurtado, Chao Junwen, Secretary-General of the China Chamber of Commerce for Foodstuffs and Native Produce, and Juan Latife, General Manager of Garces Fruit China, Chile’s leading cherry exporter.

Through large-scale direct sourcing, JD’s procurement team has reduced the import costs of Chilean cherries, offering consumers prices that are approximately 15% lower than those on other e-commerce platforms for the same grade and size.

To ensure quality and proper grading, JD Super has introduced a caliper offering this season. Each box of cherries comes with a caliper that allows consumers to accurately grade the fruit and ensure they have received high-quality Chilean cherries.

Since late October, JD’s online channels and its 7Fresh omnichannel supermarket chain have been selling the season’s air-freight Chilean cherries. This product offering, which has been met with enthusiasm from Chinese consumers, is supported by JD’s extensive national cold-chain logistics network and instant delivery services that can deliver orders within 30 minutes, making it easy and affordable for users to enjoy the early batch of Chilean cherries.

“This large-scale procurement cooperation will allow JD Super to continue leveraging our strong supply chain capabilities and work closely with Chilean partners to offer a wider variety of Chilean products at competitive prices and services to Chinese consumers,” said a spokesperson of JD Super.

JD Health Debuts Merck’s New Diabetes Medication GLUCOPHAGE® XR (Reduce Mass) Online in China

On December 10, JD Health, in collaboration with Merck, a globally renowned biopharmaceutical leader, began offering GLUCOPHAGE® XR  (Reduce Mass), the metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets, and became the first online pharmacy in China to provide the new antidiabetic medication developed by Merck. This launch signifies a major milestone in the partnership between JD Health and Merck, which is dedicated to enhancing the online availability and accessibility of innovative treatments for type 2 diabetes patients in China, thereby offering them a more convenient and effective medication experience.

GLUCOPHAGE® has been a cornerstone in the treatment of type 2 diabetes for over 60 years worldwide. The latest version of this medication is designed to enhance patient adherence by reducing the long-term burden of medication administration while maintaining its therapeutic benefits. The use of GSD sustained-release technology extends the time the medication remains in the stomach, reduces gastrointestinal irritation, and improves drug absorption. Additionally, the tablet is now smaller, has reduced volume by 30%, and has been transitioned from a capsule to a round shape, making it easier to swallow. It requires only once-daily administration, significantly enhancing patient convenience and safety.

To celebrate the online launch collaboration, JD Health and Merck hosted a special release event for the new medication at the 7th China International Import Expo in November. This event followed their partnership agreement in September, which also marked the opening of Merck China’s self-operated flagship store on JD.com.

JD Logistics Reports Record Growth During Start of Holiday Shopping Season

JD Logistics (also known as JINGDONG Logistics), the logistics arm of JD.com, announced a record increase in orders processed through its global overseas warehouse network on Black Friday.

JD Logistics’ global supply chain supported merchants and brands worldwide across a diverse range of industries, including apparel, electronics, home decor, food, fast-moving consumer goods, and both online and offline retail.

In Europe, JD Logistics’ warehouses in the Netherlands, the UK, France, Poland, Germany and Spain saw outbound orders increase by 200% on Black Friday. The on-time outbound rate for at least one retail brand in Poland was100% even as the brand’s volume order doubled.

In North America, JD Logistics manages more than 20 self-operated and collaborative warehouses. A beverage container brand’s order volume increased over 300% and a leading suitcase brand increased by 400%. Overall, JD Logistics secured a 24-hour on-time outbound rate of as high as 99.8%.

In Australia, order volume from its No. 2 warehouse in Sydney was also record-breaking. In Japan, the company’s No.1 collaborative warehouse saw order volume increase rapidly. The company can already ensure same-day fulfillment with outbound efficiency exceeding the local industry average, greatly enhancing merchant operation and customer shopping experience.

JD Foundation Advances Disability Support Initiatives in Strategic Partnership

On November 29, in celebration of the 33rd International Day of Persons with Disabilities, JD Foundation, in collaboration with the Beijing Disabled Persons’ Federation and the Beijing Disabled Persons’ Welfare Foundation, hosted a series of charitable events at JD.com’s headquarters. JD Foundation and the Beijing Disabled Persons’ Welfare Foundation have established a strategic partnership focused on improving the quality of life for people with disabilities, promoting their integration into society, exploring new philanthropic models, and creating awareness for public welfare institutions. These efforts are collectively aimed at achieving high-quality development in disability support services.

JD.com has a longstanding commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities since its inception. As early as 2005, when JD.com entered the e-commerce sector, the company has employed individuals with disabilities. Over the years, the company has expanded its efforts through skills training and empowerment initiatives, facilitating employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for individuals with disabilities. In October of 2013, JD Customer Service launched the “Sunshine Angels” project, through which hundreds of individuals with disabilities have been employed, with plans to offer part-time positions to 1,000 more. The November 29 event featured a charity bazaar with handicrafts created by people with disabilities. Proceeds from the sales will go toward disability-related charitable causes. JD employees who made purchases each received a certificate and a commemorative badge recognizing their support and participation in disability advocacy.

One of the event’s highlights was a guide dog demonstration, where three guide dog users and their canine companions captured the attention of attendees. The guide dogs demonstrated their ability to assist their owners in navigating streets, avoiding obstacles, and ensuring safe travel. Guide dogs not only help visually impaired individuals to navigate and find destinations but also serve as protectors during emergencies. Beyond their practical assistance, these dogs are invaluable companions, providing emotional support to their owners.

The event also featured an inspiring performance by artists with disabilities from Beijing, Hebei, Tianjin, and other regions, in which they presented a rich tapestry of songs, dances, instrumental music, and storytelling. The performance provided a vibrant, heartwarming cultural showcase to attendees.
