JD launched its first cargo flight between China and the U.S. on Jun. 7. The route between Nanjing Jiangsu province and Los Angeles will facilitate the transport of quality Chinese products to the U.S. and vice versa.

Over 100 automated ground vehicles (AGVs) were put into use in JD’s 27,000 square-meter logistics center in Lhasa, Tibet on Jun. 9, making it the largest smart warehouse in this autonomous region. JD will further develop its logistics infrastructure in Tibet, building more warehouses, transfer and distribution hubs, to serve better local customers and help Tibet’s specialties reach the rest of the nation.

JD Logistics announced on Jun. 10 that it will upgrade the service of its autonomous delivery vehicles during this year’s 618 Grand Promotion to satisfy consumers’ demands whenever and wherever. JD.ID appointed the star actress, Cinta Laura as its brand ambassador, on Jun. 10. Cinta Laura is an Indonesian-German actress, electropop singer and model who was appointed ambassador of anti-violence against women and children by the Indonesian Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection in 2019.

Students in Suqian Xianlin Campus of Nanjing Foreign Language School had a penalty kick competition on a new soccer field made of recycled plastic bottles on Jun. 4. The field has been constructed using recycled plastic bottles. Last year, over 20,000 families joined the bottle recycling program launched by JD Green Stream Initiative and P&G Beauty.

JD Health and Sanofi China announced to expand existing collaboration to building general and digitalized health management solutions for patients with chronic diseases in China on Jun 1. Based on the “internet + healthcare” model, the cooperation aims to benefit more patients across the country with premier medical services and relieve pressure on the overloaded public medical system.

JD.com’s 618 Grand Promotion (Jun. 1-18) officially began at 00:00am on Jun 1. Four minutes after paying the remaining balance on her pre-sale order, Ms. Wang, a resident of Changshu, Jiangsu province, received the skin care set she ordered, delivered by JD’s autonomous delivery robot.

JD Logistics and GSP Automotive Group inked a partnership on May 31, in which JD will assist GSP in building a global auto parts industrial chain platform utilizing the company’s long-established integrated supply chain solutions. JD.com’s international business, JD Worldwide, signed a partnership with Ping An Bank’s Shenzhen branch on May 31, to collaborate on foreign trade services including bank account service, cross-border finance, offshore finance, supply chain finance, e-finance and more.

JD.com and Chang’an Ford signed an agreement to further deepen cooperation on May 28 in Chongqing to ensure the supply of a full line of Chang’an Ford’s products through JD.com together with timely after-sale services. JD Logistics listed on Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx) on May 28 with the ticker 2618.HK. An IPO celebration ceremony was hosted at JD.com’s headquarters in Beijing, virtually connected to the exchange in Hong Kong. The opening price was HKD 40.36, and the IPO raised an estimated HKD 241.13 billion. Nine representatives and a JD Logistics six-axis robot sounded the gong.

JD opened an all-cargo charter flight between Shenzhen and Bangkok on May 28, the e-commerce giant’s first in the Asia-Pacific region. Open to enterprises (SMEs) in both countries, the freight-dedicated route will facilitate delivery of goods from China to customers in Thailand and vice versa within 48 hours.

JD Property, the business division for smart industrial development under JD.com and Beijing Tianrun New Energy investment Co., Ltd. a wholly-owned subsidiary of China’s leading clean energy solution provider Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd., announced on May 26 to establish a joint venture focusing on clean energy development, investment and operation. JD.com delivered its emergency aid to Yangbi Yi autonomous county in Yunnan province at 5 a.m. on May 22, after the county was struck by a 6.4-magnitude earthquake at 9 p.m. on May 21. In 2012, JD.com’s founder Richard Liu announced a company regulation stating that if a disaster happens anywhere in the country, the nearest JD warehouse should immediately donate and transport its goods to meet the emergency demands, and that its management does not need to obtain prior approval.
