JD Health’s Relief Supplies Arrived in Shijiazhuang

JD Health’s new batch of relief supplies, namely 240,000 medical masks and 1,000 bottles of vitamin C, arrived in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, at 11:30 pm on Jan. 20. The supplies will be distributed to designated medical institutions that are treating COVID-19 patients.
The supplies come from more than 10 merchants on JD Health’s B2B platform known as JD Medicine Procurement and will be provided to people in need for free.
In addition to supplies donation, JD Medicine Procurement has set up a dedicated online portal for the procurement of anti-virus supplies. At the same time, the platform works closely with pharmaceutical manufacturers to ensure the increasing demand for medical supplies can be sufficiently met.
Leveraging its supply chain advantages, JD Logistics launched a special channel for the transportation of the aid to Hebei. Moreover, JD Health has also opened online medical consultation service platform for free during the outbreak.
“Led by JD Health, merchants at JD Medicine Procurement have actively assisted Hebei in the fight against the epidemic, including guaranteeing priority delivery to pharmacies in the province, promising not to increase price, and more. All parties are devoting themselves to making a contribution,” said a spokesperson from JD Medicine Procurement.

JD.com Teams Up with Brands to Launch “Trade-in Alliance for Household Appliances and Home Goods”
JD.com recently announced the “Trade-in Alliance for Household Appliances and Home Goods” in collaboration with over 100 renowned brands. This initiative, unveiled on April 27, aims to expand and enhance trade-in services across China and has already been successfully implemented in 20 provinces and cities.
The Trade-in Alliance allows consumers to access JD’s trade-in services for an extensive range of products, covering over 200 subcategories including TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and more. With just four simple clicks on the JD app, users can receive generous discounts from their old goods and enjoy the convenience of JD’s one-stop trade-in services.
JD.com also utilizes its logistical strengths to extend these services to even the most remote areas of China. For instance, customers living in Tibet at an elevation of 4,300 meters can now easily access JD’s trade-in options, including doorstep delivery and recycling of old appliances.

JD.com is honored to announce that it has been awarded the 2024 INFORMS Prize. This recognition makes JD.com the first Asia-based enterprise to receive the award, highlighting its pioneering use of advanced analytics and operations research/management sciences (OR/MS) within its business operations.
