JD to Hold Fifth Global Smart Supply Chain Summit

JD Logistics will host its Global Smart Supply Chain Summit (GSSC) on October 22nd. The summit, which is in its fifth year, will discuss how digital supply chain can drive economic and industrial development.

The summit will be held online for the first time. Under the impact of pandemic, the global supply chain has encountered great challenges but also opportunities.

JD has invited industry leaders from logistics, commerce and technology to share their views on global supply chain development and acceleration of economic recovery. Some of the guest speakers include Paul Romer, the co-recipient of the 2018 Nobel Prize in Economics and professor at New York University; Justin Yifu Lin, former chief economist of the World Bank and Honorary Dean of National School of Development at Peking University; Yossi Sheffi, director of MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics; Martin Christopher, Emeritus Professor of Marketing & Logistics at Cranfield University; and Xiaobo Wu, a financial author. Romer will share his thoughts on global and Chinese economic development, while Lin will share his view on the “dual circulation” growth model in China.

In addition, Yossi Sheffi, Martin Christopher and Xiaobo Wu will delve into other topics concerning global economic development and supply chain.
