JD Auto Introduces 24 Free Car Services for Flood Protection

by Vivian Yang

Southern China is entering peak flood season from mid-July to mid-August. This creates problems for drivers in waterlogged areas. To ensure safety and convenience for car owners during this period, JD Auto Services, the chain of professional car maintenance and service stores under JD Auto, introduced 24 free car testing services in over 1,000 offline stores. They cover three stages: pre-accident high-risk parts examination, vehicle rescue, and post-accident maintenance and repairs.

In the prevention stage, JD Auto Services’ free services include inspections of steering, brakes, lighting, horns, wipers, tires, and other parts affected by flooding. Such inspections serve to minimize the risk when driving during flood season.

Accident rescue involves a timely rescue service to move soaked vehicles away from deep water and to a safe place. This reduces water damage to vehicles.

In the post-accident maintenance and repair stage, a number of frequent pain points are given extra care to ensure the vehicle’s functionality and safety. These include battery testing, chassis cleaning, and removal of stagnant water.

As an online to offline (O2O) integration service for car owners, all the services on JD Auto Services can be booked online via JD.com, and then fulfilled through the designated offline car service stores, creating a full-process and one-stop experience for the customers.

Transparent and fast service is the core value behind JD Auto Services, according to a spokesperson from the business unit. In the future, JD Auto Services will continue to develop its advantages based on JD’s big data, technologies, and platform and resource integration. Improvements to its O2O car maintenance services will bring convenience and a better life to hundreds of millions of consumers.

JD Health to Build the 1st Regional Intelligent Drug Use Platform

by Vivian Yang

On July 23rd,  JD Health and Hebi City of Henan province announced an agreement to co-build the city’s medical service platform. The platform will undertake the management and operation of Hebi’s big data of medicine and provide several convenient and innovative services for the public, including drug use management, prescription examination, intelligent physique identification, and more.

Based on the medical service platform developed by JD Health, the “internet + healthcare” model will be deployed across hospitals in Hebi, enabling online and offline medical services including patient flow management, drug supplies, health management and family doctors to be fully integrated to improve resource allocation and service experience.

Hebi’s local people can have easier access to consult with nationally well-known doctors online through the internet hospitals on JD Health. In addition, the intelligent TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) physique identification system which is independently developed by JD Health has been embedded in the platform. People can fill in the online questionnaire for a systematic analysis and get their physique type report free of charge.

The intelligent drug use platform for Hebi is the first regional level application project empowered by the AI and big data capabilities of JD Health which cover all medical institutions across city, county and township levels. The information system is based on AI-powered pharmaceutical knowledge graphs and deployed on the city government’s cloud, providing connected medical institutions with online services such as drug use audit and drug rule review.

The platform’s drug use database and examination functions can provide real-time knowledge retrieval and early warning for clinicians to reduce the occurrence of drug mismatch and antibiotic abuse. It is also an intelligent tool for professional pharmacists to audit the input of the pharmaceutical knowledge graphs to ensure the accuracy and constant upgrade of the rational drug use system. Through big data monitoring and random inspection, local drug administration supervisors can achieve more scientific policy-making and orderly drug administration.

The medical service platform has become a benchmark of Hebi City’s “new infrastructure” project in the field of medical information technology, said a spokesperson of Hebi City.

JD Courier Helps Customer to Make Mission Impossible Possible

by Ling Cao

On July 22nd noon, Keci Ning, a JD courier who is responsible for JD Luxury Express, the white glove delivery service in Beijing, picked up an unknown call from a customer who was anxiously asking JD to help him hand deliver a very important file from Beijing to a recipient in Zhuhai, Guangdong province. He said, “I desperately need someone to help me. I’m willing to cover the airplane tickets, meal and delivery fee, and many delivery companies rejected me.”

It’s over 2,000 kilometers between the two cities. Ning had never received such kind of a request and the task is beyond his normal duty. Touched by the customer’s anxiety, however, he quickly coordinated internally to make it happen. After five minutes, he called the customer back with the good news that JD can help him deliver this parcel, and has made special arrangements to make sure it arrives on time.

Ning picked up the parcel from the customer immediately and booked the earliest flight out that day, 4:00 pm. Once he landed, Ning called a taxi from the airport in Zhuhai to the delivery destination, ultimately delivering the parcel at 8:30 pm that same night.

“Thank you very much! I will only use JD to send parcels going forward. Your service is fast and great!” said the customer.

Smiling, Ning said, “I was excited during the journey. It’s not just because the experience is special, but more importantly, I helped the customer solve a problem when he was really in need.”

A representative from JD Express North Region said, “We appreciate customers’ trust in us. We will continue to provide high quality service to our customers, becoming a long-term and trustworthy partner for them.”
